Food Packaging Designer

About

Hello, my name is Jodi and I am the designer, illustrator, maker, creator behind Hello Neighbor Designs and The Neighborgoods.

I have been running my design business for over ten years and have worked in a variety of industries — from fashion and beauty to corporate and entertainment. Two and a half years ago, I shifted my focus to work on branding, packaging, and illustration for clients in the food industry only. I LOVE that my work now combines both of my passions, food and design.

When I made the foodie switch, I wanted to take my combined passions one step further, and was on a quest to create unique holiday gifts for friends and family. I began illustrating family recipes, and thought it would be fun to print them on dish towels. I ended up fully jumping in, taking a course at the School of Visual Arts to master the screen printing process, and see what else I could create. In time, I was screen printing dish towels, tote bags, art prints and onesie gifts…for EVERYONE! And The Neighborgoods — my line of screen-printed, foodie-themed goods — was born.

I draw inspiration from my everyday city life (I recently landed in Washington DC by way of Brooklyn), as well as from my rural Pennsylvanian roots. I try to be as authentic as possible and like my work to reflect my fun-loving nature. Coffee gets me going in the morning but my love of illustration, design and food (and combining all three) keeps me going and growing as a designer and maker.

I would love to work with you on your next project, whether it is packaging for your latest product launch, a logo for your new restaurant, or giving your existing brand a refreshed look.
